Lookin’ like Mommy!

Last night we gave Coyer a bath and snapped an adorable picture… which reminded me a lot of a baby picture of my own!

Wow!  Look at that!  He’s actually starting to look like his Mommy now.  🙂

Coyer has always looked more like Daddy… and that’s awesome, but it’s also so exciting to get to see a little of myself too!

Surprised to see me posting on the blog today?  Yeah, I am too.  But I got a call from daycare while I was at work today.  Coyer has a bit of a fever, so I came home to take care of him.

This is him now… sleeping away the day and snoring like an old man!

I don’t think it’s anything serious.  Just a bit of a cold.  I’m blaming all those daycare germs again!  We are going to have amazingly awesome immune systems after this cold & flu season.

One more thing:  Coyer is 5 months old today!!!

It’s crazy how fast he’s growing up.  Kinda sad, but very exciting at the same time.

He’s rolling over like crazy now.  He’ll roll from one end of the living room to the other if we let him!

He’s getting better at sitting up, but still needs a little support.

Coyer has really started to notice the dog lately.  He’s been reaching out to touch his nose whenever Marley is close by.  It’s pretty cute to watch, but Marley still isn’t too interested in the baby.  He pretty much just smells Coyer then runs off to take a nap or eat something.

We’ve started a few solid foods:  rice cereal, bananas, peas, carrots, pears.  So far, he loves it all!  At first it took a while for him to figure out how to eat off of the spoon.  But lately he’s just about mastered this new way of eating!

We’ve got such a happy baby!  He’s always smiling and laughs more and more every day.  He brings so much joy to our lives!

There’s so much more to talk about with Coyer’s development… but I’m out of time!  Little guy is waking up and he is HUNGRY! 🙂

  1. Great pictures. So cute. 5 months really. Where dose the time go. Can’t wait to see you all and hold your precious gift. Thanks for the update. Hope the fevor is gone by the time you ready this.

  2. Love the pics! Hope he is feeling better!

  3. Wow, happy 5 months! Coyer is as cute as ever. Love the bath comparison photos. I’m sorry he’s got a bug, but in a way it’s an unexpected day of cuddles you get to share with your little man!

  4. i love that coyer is noticing the dog, i can’t wait until they are having “a boy and his dog” moments! our dog also ignores jackson, unless he has a tight grip on her ears 🙂 coyer is so darn pretty (i know, i know, not very manly) he has such beautiful features, so i’m not suprised he looks like his mama!

    • Yeah, our dog doesn’t seem to interested in the baby yet… I’m sure that will change as he gets older though! Thanks for the compliments on Coyer… I definitely think he’s “pretty”. But my husband doesn’t love when I say that. Lol 🙂

  5. My little guy is starting to notice the dog the last few days too. i think its adorable! I definitely see the resemblance in your baby pictures. So cute!!

    • What does the dog think about baby? Curios, uninterested, protective? It seems like it’s different for certain breeds. Our Weimaraner is mostly uninterested, but somewhat curious at times.

      • Yes our beagle is the same way. Usually, its like he doesn’t even notice the baby and other times he will give him a little curious sniff and move along. If I actually sit the baby next to him, the dogs runs away like he’s scared of the baby. Its kind of funny.

  6. Happy 5 months to Coyer! That’s great that he loves eating. Charlotte only eats rice cereal and she prefers to hold on to the spoon and grab at everything rather than actually eat.

Hopefully little guy feels better soon. I know that’s in our future once we start daycare. Ugh, not looking forward to that!

    • When will you start daycare? Hopefully it won’t be right smack in the middle of cold & flu season. Maybe then you can avoid getting slammed all at once like we did.

Nothing fun about all the sickness… but I can say, what didn’t kill us only makes us stronger! Right?
